About Amanda

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist specializing in relationships, sexuality, and parenting. My work centers on the belief that healthy relationships and sexuality are some of the most fundamental building blocks to a fulfilling life and have profound impacts on the world around us.

I strive to be direct yet empathetic, challenging yet patient, and more than anything, I want you to get to where you want to be. You will gain practical tools and skills while also digging into the deep emotional work needed to see real change. I am trauma-informed, culturally and spiritually responsive, strengths-based, and pleasure-positive.

Getting to where I am today has been a case of “all roads lead to Rome”. I am fulfilling what I see as my purpose, and all the winding roads I took along the way to get here have given me valuable perspectives and insight.

Since high school, I knew I loved relationships and saw them as a critical component of life. In college, I took every sex, relationship, and development class I could. I even did an honors thesis on “Interracial Relationship Functioning”, which granted me Summa Cum Laude. I took a break after school to work before deciding on the graduate degree I wanted. I found I hated working directly with children through my work at a residential treatment center, but I saw immense value in working within the family system. I decided to get my Masters of Social Work. Various internships and work experiences from there included: adults with development disabilities, family therapy, substance use treatment, and child protective services. Throughout school, I focused on relationships, sexuality, and clinical skills.

A personal family matter meant a sudden move back to my hometown, and a big shift in career trajectory. I worked at a skilled nursing facility and then in hospice. While I enjoyed these areas, and they added a brand new perspective on illness, disability, aging, and end of life, I never felt they were my calling. So I worked hard to complete my training in sex therapy on the evenings and weekends. I opened my own practice to gain more experience with relationships and sexuality.

Finally, after having my two children, I felt it was time to pursue a job path directly related to what I wanted to do and joined Caralee Hammer Frederic, LCSW, at Principle Skills Relationship Center. I was around people with similar passions, incredible experience, and I finally felt like it was where I was meant to be. I have completed my level 3 Gottman training, Emotion Coaching parenting training, and worked to hone my skills to be able to handle just about any relationship that walks through my door. Principle Skills has now merged with Enrich Relationship Center of Colorado, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of this incredible team.
